Commercial vehicle electronic systems
Slepánek, David ; Zháňal, Lubor (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with electronic systems of commercial vehicles. In the first part the reader is introduced to basic groups of electronic systems, with their functions and applications. The second part discusses particular systems in detail. The last part is dedicated to the development of autonomous commercial vehicles. The thesis also contains the pros and cons of using these technologies in practise. In the conclusion, the helpfulness of each system is assessed.
Acquisition of inputs by image processing for controlling an autonomous vehicle
Midrla, Daniel ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kučera, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with data acquisition by image processing in order to control an autonomous vehicle. Firstly, the thesis offers a summary of theoretical knowledge relevant to the given topic. Then follows a description of creating an algorithm, which acquires basic inputs for autonomous vehicle control with the use of a stereo camera and an object detection neural network. The inputs gained from this algorithm are the class of the detected object and its distance. Finally, an experimental evaluation of the correct functionality is performed with an emphasis on optimizing the accuracy and range of the distance computation. An assessment of the ability to deploy the created algorithm in real time on a compact computer with limited computing power is also performed.
Design of traffic sign detector using image processing methods
Šmíd, Josef ; Adámek, Roman (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of a traffic sign detector using the image processing methods. The OpenCV library for working with images in programming language Python is used for this. The first part reports on the using methods. In the next part, these methods were tested on images of traffic signs taken in traffic in different lighting conditions. The results of these tests led to the design of optimal methods and their settings, which were re-verified by verifying on video of driving in traffic. This also revealed the conditions under which they can operate in real-time systems. Finally, an optimization algorithm for compensation of detection errors was proposed from the monitoring of detection waveforms.
Autonomous vehicles testing
Nágl, Jiří ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the research of autonomous vehicles and their testing. In the first part, the work focuses on autonomous vehicles and connectivity between them. Subsequently, it deals with testing of autonomous vehicles on proving grounds and testing in real world. The last chapter includes virtual testing and dedicated software.
Autonomous Vehicles Liability Insurance
Hořavová, Maria ; Vybíral, Roman (advisor) ; Tuláček, Michal (referee)
Autonomous Vehicles Liability Insurance Abstract The diploma thesis is focused on the issue of autonomous vehicles and its liability insurance as it is a very current topic, as evidenced by extensive discussions across the professional and lay public. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the currently existing legal framework at national, EU and international level and to clarify whether the current legal framework is sufficient for the operation of autonomous vehicles. The liability insurance system itself and the principles of its operation are also analysed with regard to their suitability for autonomous transportation. Where deficiencies are identified, de lege ferenda considerations are outlined, and expected changes as well as appropriate solutions are identified. In addition, the diploma thesis provides a meaningful introduction to the principles of autonomous vehicles and discusses other areas closely related to liability insurance for damage caused by the operation of autonomous vehicles. The diploma thesis is divided into five separate chapters. These chapters are structured in such a way that the reader first gains an understanding of the topic and becomes familiar with the complex system of autonomous vehicles. In the first chapter, the reader is introduced to the concept of an autonomous...
Zhodnocení současného rozvoje autonomních systémů řízení osobních vozidel
Zbořil, Maxmilián
The presented bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the current development of car-nomic control systems for passenger vehicles. The first part of the thesis deals with the history of autonomous systems and then a detailed overview of the individual sensors used in autonomous vehicles is presented. In the second part, an enumeration of the different levels of automation of autonomous systems is made together with a description of the different assistance systems found in vehicles. In the third part, the specific representation of autonomous systems in the automotive industry is addressed, followed by a description of the factors influencing the development of autonomous systems. Finally, an analysis of accident rates for the monitoring period is presented.
Civil law aspects of self-driving vehicles
Přenosilová, Klára ; Elischer, David (advisor) ; Psutka, Jindřich (referee) ; Rozehnal, Aleš (referee)
Civil law aspects of self-driving vehicles Abstract This dissertation focuses on the civil law aspects of the still relatively new phenomenon of self-driving cars. Considering that what distinguishes an autonomous car from a conventional car is mainly the autopilot software, which enables its autonomous driving without driver intervention, the legal analysis of the autopilot is given special attention. The aim is to provide a comprehensive analysis of this phenomenon from all fundamental aspects of civil law. The dissertation is divided into a total of five parts. The first introduces autonomous cars and their classification from a technical point of view. The second part deals with the civil law nature of the autonomous car and the autopilot software. After an initial definition of the terms, the autonomous car and its software are considered in terms of their nature as a thing, their status, their copyright protection and their nature as a product. The third part provides a legal assessment of the main contracts that may typically be entered into in connection with their use. These include the purchase contract and, given the interdependence of the autonomous car with the autopilot software, the licence and the software-as-a-service agreement. The fourth part is devoted to the ethical aspects of the use...
